W Motors is a Dubai-based car company, established originally in Beirut, Lebanon in 2012 by Ralph R. Debbas. W Motors was the first Lebanese manufacturer of sports cars,[2] and is the first Middle-East-based manufacturer of luxury sports cars, or supercars.[3][4]

Models[edit]

Lykan HyperSport[edit]

Rear view of the Lykan HyperSport

The Lykan HyperSport is powered by a flat 6-cylinder 3.7-litre (3746 cc) twin-turbo mid-rear engine, developing 780 hp (582 kW; 791 PS) and 960 N⋅m (708 lb⋅ft) of torque,[21]claiming 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds with a maximum speed of 395 km/h (245 mph).[22] It features a holographic display with interactive motion and tactile interaction. LEDheadlights are made up of a titanium blade encrusted with diamonds and the taillights with sapphires, a 24-hour concierge service is also available from Quintessentially.

Lykan Roadster[edit]

Only three of the forthcoming Lykan Roadsters will be sold out of the 5, as 2 will be used as crash tests at Texas Speedway.

W Motors released an image of the front of a vehicle similar to the current Lykan through their Instagram page, with the caption, "Can you tell what is different about this Lykan?" and, later, another from the rear, captioned, "From this angle can you tell what's the difference? Only a few of you got it right on the last post ..." Many fans saw this as possible hint that the project will go ahead. The vehicle appeared to have more carbon fibre body parts, however, W Motors later posted that, "[the difference] is scale...". The photos were of a 1:18 die cast model by Frontiart.

Fenyr SuperSport[edit]

In 2013, W Motors announced it would manufacture a second line of supercars, that was later unveiled as the $1.85 million Fenyr SuperSport, named after Fenrir, a monstrous wolf in Norse mythology. A supercar with a production limited to 25 units per year, [3][23][24] a special focus on high-performance and more discreet luxury details when compared with the ones Lykan HyperSport is known for.[23] The Fenyr SuperSport concept featured a 4.0L twin-turbocharged Flat-6 with 900 hp (670 kW; 910 PS) and 811 lb⋅ft (1,100 N⋅m), with a 0–60 mph performance time of 2.7 seconds, and a top speed over 249 mph,[23][25] and a curb weight of approximately 2,646 lb (1,200 kg).[26] The Fenyr Supersport was unveiled at the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show.[5] On November 29, 2017, with the opening of the new W Motors boutique in Dubai, the production version of the Fenyr SuperSport was revealed, with many changes from the concept.[27]

The production version of the Fenyr SuperSport features a 3.8L twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine with 800 hp (597 kW; 811 PS) and 723 lb⋅ft (980 N⋅m), as much torque as a McLaren P1. 0 - 60 mph (97 km/h) is still 2.7 seconds, while the top speed is now 245 mph (394 km/h). As the Fenyr now weighs 2,976 lb (1,350 kg), it has a power-to-weight ratio of 593 hp (442 kW; 601 PS) per tonne. Normal suicide doors are also featured instead of the unique suicide-swan doors from the Lykan HyperSport. Only 25 units will be produced.

The Fenyr SuperSport was being developed in concert with an eco-friendly racecar program fostered by Quimera, an electric-car manufacturer.[25][26] A racing version of the SuperSport, the Fenyr SuperSport HSF, will use what W Motors is calling a "hybrid synthetic fuel" and be carbon-neutral.[25][28]

Luxury Sedan[edit]

An as-yet unnamed sedan model was scheduled to debut in 2016. An estimated 100 sedans per year will be produced, each costing approximately US$50,000.00 The sedan's premiere was planned for the September 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.[4] It is unknown if this model will be released.

Luxury Sport Utility Vehicle[edit]

Two as-yet unnamed SUV models, which will be built in the UAE and have a price range of US$200–300K, were set to debut in April 2016, at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.[5][not in citation given] One model will have a sports-car-like focus on speed, while the other is designed to be "an off-road luxury car."[5][not in citation given] Unlike the more exclusive HyperSport and SuperSport models, W Motors plans to produce more than 100 units of their SUV models per year, with a significantly shorter order-to-delivery time than for their custom-built sports cars.[5][not in citation given] The designs were released to CNN in 2015. It is unknown if these models will be released.
